  19. Expanding investment activities for energy rehabilitation, maintenance, reading, and billing through reputable companies subject to transparent evaluation and review, ensuring performance efficiency that reduces required investment costs from the state budget for the development of the distribution sector.

Investment Plan in the Energy Sector

As part of the general governmental directives and the specific policies of the Ministry of Electricity, the ministry has developed a new mechanism and criteria for attracting reputable local and international investment companies to invest in the sectors of (electric power generation and electricity distribution).

Investment in Power Generation

  1. The investment company must have extensive experience in the electricity industry.
  2. The company must have a track record of constructing plants according to the Ministry of Electricity's specifications and requirements.
  3. The company must commit to completing the project within the contractually agreed timeframe.
  4. The investment company must provide a portfolio showcasing its previous projects and their success.

Based on the above, the ministry ensures the reliability and credibility of these companies to avoid entering into contracts and implementing projects with low-quality or fraudulent entities.

  Smart Solutions Sector

  1. Digital transformation is an integral part of daily life. It has now made its way, as some say, into every sector at a rapid pace, and the energy field is no exception. With more and more end-use sectors adopting digital technologies, the feedback impact on energy efficiency is highly significant.
  2. The transportation sector has transformed into smarter and more connected infrastructure, with new solutions such as automation and ride-sharing reducing energy consumption by half.
  3. Smart structures have proven that digital transformation can reduce energy consumption by about 15% by using real-time data to optimize operational efficiency. Smart lighting systems and thermostats use predictive technology to foresee user needs and create a connected system where energy waste is minimized.
  4. The largest industries that may benefit from adopting smart technologies are energy suppliers. Using smart technologies such as smart sensors and data analytics not only reduces production costs but also helps predict equipment failures, thereby enhancing worker health and safety.
  5. At the 10th Iraq Energy Exhibition and Conference (IEE), discover how smart solutions help save millions of dollars in the long term and how they have now become a key enabler in the transition to a low-carbon energy system.

Renewable and Clean Energy

With the continued growth of the renewable energy industry worldwide, we are proud to present the perfect gateway for solar energy businesses at the 6th Iraq Energy Exhibition and Conference from April 22 to 24, 2019, in Iraq.

The exhibition will host industry leaders, governments, manufacturers, suppliers, traders, contractors, and partners from all over the world.

The Ministry of Electricity sponsors the largest event in sustainable and renewable technologies in the region. It will highlight the latest innovations in solar and sustainable energy, providing a unique platform for public-private partnerships to develop innovative solutions.

The 6th Iraq Energy Exhibition and Conference will serve as a major platform for the public and private sectors to strike deals, build partnerships, review the latest solar energy technologies, learn about current and future projects in the region, identify market needs, and explore opportunities to participate in solar energy projects and programs.
